Welcome to the L. Jeffrey Selznick School
In 1996, George Eastman House established the L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation. The school is the first in North America to teach the art and science of preserving, restoring, and archiving motion picture formats.
The Selznick School provides students with a comprehensive education covering the theory, methods, and practice of archival work and film preservation. Students work closely with George Eastman House staff, receiving practical, hands-on training in the maintenance, care, and management of moving image collections.
Yearly enrollment is kept to a maximum of 15 students, with a cap of seven graduate students attending the Selznick Graduate Program in Film and Media Preservation at the University of Rochester.
